Our Time Spent At Mann River Nature Reserve
Kookaburra and I camped at Mann River Nature Reserve just before we headed off for our travels. We had a very relaxing time of just watching the birds and listing to the river gurgle past
There were quite a few birds but the ones that kept coming back and never leaving were the Jacky Winter Birds
We could almost never catch them flying
They would rest on the posts then zoom of when we thought we were ready
They did have a few favorite post they liked to rest on and I tried waiting for them to fly to one but every time they just flew to a different one
I would then switch posts and of course they would then pick the post I had just left
They were always content to just sit there when you wanted to get a shot of them flying
Then whenever you wanted to get them all nicely sitting together at least one of them, if not all decided they wanted to fly
We spent quite a lot of time taking pictures of those birds
So much time that we always got really excited when a different bird came along
Even when it was a bird we'd seen a hundred times at home before
Although I rarely take photos of them so it was great that they decided to visit
It was cloudy the whole time we were there
We couldn't figure out if it was always cloudy
Or just while we were there they had a run of bad weather
There's nothing more peaceful then reading in amongst nature
But then of course we went back to bird watching
The Willy Wag Tail was a frequent visitor but was often over looked because of the Jacky Winter's constant movement
Wow, what beautiful colours! I didn't realise you were bird lovers
